Institution: Stanford Graduate School of Business (USA)
Course: Be a Leader That Matters

My time at Stanford University is an opportunity that I’m so grateful for and one that will have a lasting impact on me and my business well into the future.

I spent six weeks living on campus in the heart of Silicon Valley completing the Stanford Executive Program (SEP) with 220 other students from 34 different countries. It was an intensive business and leadership Program that was designed around the concept of ‘The Whole You’.

We learned from world renowned Professors on core business subjects including Marketing, Corporate Finance, Artificial Intelligence, Negotiation and Supply Chain Innovation and studied in depth the role innovation and your mindset plays in leading and scaling an organisation. We also had optional morning fitness classes, personal coaching, and every Monday morning we heard from a Professor on the Art of Happiness.

When we weren’t in class, we spent our weekends exploring California. There were regular trips to Napa Valley, San Francisco, LA and the big Sur and we enjoyed many lunches, dinners and coffees in Palo Alto soaking up the start-up and tech culture that we were immersed in.

The mission statement of Stanford’s Graduate School of Business is Change Lives. Change Organisations. Change the World. I am excited to take what I have learned and grow my company and pursue the new opportunities it has created.

The impact of the ILF grant is far reaching and goes well beyond the six weeks I spent in the US, it has given me the gift of life-long friends and enabled a new course to be set for me and my business. Thank you so much to the whole ILF team. Your support and encouragement is what made this dream of mine a reality.
