Industry Leaders Fund’s New Award

Industry Leaders Funds new award

THE Industry Leaders Fund has announced a substantial new award, which will be given to an outstanding applicant each year.

This years awards are also being launched today, with business leaders encouraged to apply for grants worth up to $50,000 each.

Past recipients include Karen Nelson-Field from the Centre for Amplified Intelligence, Redarc owner Anthony Kittel, and Herve Astier from Neumann Space.

The Colin J Peters Memorial Award, funded by the children of the late former chief executive of Castalloy, will be given to the applicant who best meets several assessment criteria.

ILF chief executive Geoff Vogt said Mr Peters was one of the key instigators of the ILF following a successful career as chief executive of Castalloy, transforming the small South Australian manufacturer into a global supplier of aluminium parts and employer of 2500 people across three plants.

Good business leaders can contribute enormously to the economic growth of the State and we expect the Colin J Peters Memorial Award will encourage more worthy leaders to apply and assist the winners to achieve even greater success, Mr Vogt said. ILF scholar achievements to date demonstrate that the best way to build a strong South Australian economy is to provide financial support for the development of current and potential business leaders.

The new award will be the largest on offer each year.

Now in its 11th year, the ILF grant scheme has given more than $2 million to 178 scholars to help fund professional education, attending programs offered by the Harvard Business School, INSEAD and Oxfords Said Business School. Applications close on Friday, May 29.
