Call for SA industry leaders seek study grants and join an influential network
South Australia’s Industry Leaders Fund has opened its 2018 study grant scheme, inviting industry leaders to apply for up to $50,000 each to develop their professional potential and join an influential 122-member scholar network.
The eight-year-old grant scheme supports individuals who can demonstrate leadership potential at work and in the community and are interested in sharing their knowledge and achievement with their industry.
Fund chief executive Geoff Vogt said the best way to build a strong South Australian economy was to provide financial support for the development of current and potential business leaders.
What were about is growing employment and wealth generation in South Australia and weve seen significant success amongst many of our scholars enterprises, he said.
The unique private sector Fund assisted 19 scholars with $237,000 worth of grants in 2017, helping them to attend programs at Harvard Business School, INSEAD, Melbourne Business School, the University of Adelaide, Stanford Graduate School of Business, the University of South Australia, IMD (Switzerland) and Said Business School (Oxford, UK).
Last years successful applicants were: David Evans (Spend-Less Shoes), Nicholas Femia (SA Mushrooms), Oscar Fiorinotto (Supashock), Annie Flannagan (Better Business Basics), Mary Hamilton (Hugh Hamilton Wines), Matthew Headland (Santos), David Jucha (Daronmont Technologies), Margaret Law (ASC), Daniel Le Feuvre (Australian Bee Services), Michael Mangos (SA Structural), Michael Matarazzo (AEM Cores), Chantale Millard (Maggie Beer Products), Christine Molitor (Scope Global), Hannah Murdoch (Mighty Kingdom), Daniel Platten (Wintulichs), Phil Sims (Robern Menz), Maxwell Toovey (Duxton Capital), Carrie Trembath (Beach Energy) and Andrew Wallace (Electronic Recycling Australia).
Mr Vogt said the application process was simple but rigorous with scholars selected from wealth-creating industries for the State, including food and wine, bio-sciences, manufacturing, defence, software development, electronics, engineering and resources.
Applicants must work in businesses located in the State and employ South Australians in jobs that could be located interstate or overseas.
Applications close on Thursday, May 31 2018.
