Daniel Wilson (ILF2011)

Institution: Australian Institute of Business (Adelaide)
Course: Master of Business Administration

I am incredibly thankful to the Industry Leaders Fund for the grant that enabled me to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the Australian Institute of Business.

The 12-month program was structured with each month dedicated to a different subject, covering key areas such as strategic planning, operations, and finance. Each module included two full weekends of intensive lectures, followed by an assignment and an exam. This fast-paced, immersive approach suited my learning style, allowing me to focus deeply on one business-critical area at a time.

One of the most valuable aspects of the course was the opportunity to work on the business rather than in it. The assignments were directly applicable to my organisation, feeding into my overall business strategy and enabling real-world application of what I was learning.

Beyond the coursework, the in-person lectures provided an incredible learning environment, with 15 to 20 professionals from diverse industries in each session. I gained just as much from engaging with my peers as I did from the course content and lecturers. The intensity of the program fostered strong relationships, and I have continued to stay connected with many of my fellow participants, sharing insights and experiences even after completing the course.

The Industry Leaders Fund offers a fantastic opportunity for leaders seeking to develop themselves both personally and professionally. I am truly grateful for the opportunity, and I highly recommend the ILF to anyone looking to take their growth and leadership to the next level.
