More Leadership Grants Available Then Ever Before

More leadership grants available than ever before.

South Australia’s Industry Leaders Fund (ILF) has announced its fifth call for grant applications, with grants of up to $50,000 available. Last years grant program saw a total of $205,000 awarded to 16 individuals, and the ILF expects to have a significantly greater pool of funds to allocate in 2014.

ILF grants, which are fully private-sector funded, encourage people with leadership ability to develop their skills to benefit themselves, their employers and the State economy. The aim of the grants is to support individuals whose employment history or work within the community demonstrates their leadership potential. The ILF is particularly interested in those who wish to share the benefit of their talents, knowledge and achievements within their industry and the wider community.

The ILF is rapidly gaining recognition amongst business leaders. This is thanks to the unique nature of the program, integrity of the application process, high calibre and diversity of grant recipients, and the programs newly introduced Grantee Network. Past ILF grant recipients include those from industries as wide ranging as shipbuilding and winery management to aeronautical engineering, electronics, and mining.

Of the 19 grantees awarded funding from 2010 to 2012, ten have already experienced either significant career advancement or better business success than expected.

Grant recipient Richard Sims, General Manager and Operations Director at Robern Menz, attended the Advanced Management Program at Mt Eliza in 2012 with funding support from the ILF. Mr Sims has nothing but praise for the program and urges aspiring leaders to make the most of what is on offer.

The ILF grant has empowered me to further develop my leadership skills and boost my ability to make a positive contribution to Robern Menz, the National Confectionery Industry and the general community of South Australia, he said.

I encourage everyone who has a passion for South Australia, believes in the opportunities that this state can provide [and] is committed to ongoing education and self-development to explore the opportunities ILF can provide.

The 2014 call for applications closes on Friday 30 May 2014.
