Angove Winemakers has drawn on more than a century of history to produce its first single malt

Victoria Angove (ILF2015),  Richard Angove (ILF2020)

Angove Family Winemakers has combined its more than century-old St Agnes Distillery stills with an oak reserve “close to unrivalled across Australia’’, to produce its first ever single malt whisky range.
The fifth-generation wine and spirits company is one of the oldest family-owned wine companies in Australia, and has long been at the forefront of innovation, from Tom Angove’s invention of the wine cask in 1965 to its more recent embrace of organic methods in its vineyards.
The four new whiskies will sell for $275 per 700ml bottle, with the name – Camborne Single Malt Whisky – harking back to the birthplace of the business’s founder, Dr William Thomas Angove, who emigrated from Camborne, Cornwall, in 1886.
