Gibson Wines wins best shiraz at London Wine Competition

The Barossa’s Gibson Wines is celebrating being awarded the Best Shiraz in Show, after the results of the 2022 London Wine Competition were released overnight.
The small winery in the Northern Barossa, founded by Rob and Anne Gibson, took out the Gold Medal and Best Varietal in Show for the Shiraz/Syrah category, for the 2019 Gibson ‘Reserve’ Shiraz.
The wine, which sells in Australia for $55 a bottle, was judged as the top Shiraz from entrants from Australia, France, Greece, Spain, South Africa and Portugal. It was
awarded Gold Medal and 95 Points (on a 100-point scale) and assessed as the Best Shiraz in Show, based on a combination of quality, value and packaging criteria.
